If you're looking for a hybrid powered car, as this article states, check out a Toyota Prius. It would be an excellent choice.

However, trying to buy one right now can be a bit pricey. Most dealers are charging a premium over the factory price. For that reason, you might want to consider looking at a Ford Focus PZEV. It gets around 37 MPG Highway, costs around half as much as a Prius (about 14 grand!), and runs very efficiently.

In the end, also keep in mind that hybrid powered cars, while fuel-efficient, are high-maintenance and are costly to repair.

I am considering buying a new hybrid powered car. I was wondering what is the most economical hybrid car on the market today?

I would love to hear from people who have actually bought a hybrid and have driven it for a while. I want my next car to be a hybrid (for all the usual reasons - gas savings, earth friendly, etc). I do not want to spend a fortune, however.

Who currently makes the cheapest hybrid car money can buy?
