Though launched on the market as early as the 90s, Honda hybrid models started being promoted in the US only from 1999. The model called Honda Insight was the first one that became available to us buyers and soon Toyota Prius followed Honda\’s model. It seems that Honda\’s hybrid models enjoy high sales rates as well as the Toyota ones although in the United States Honda has taken the lead. One Honda hybrid that set a record in terms of selling in 2004 is the Civic Hybrid. This would explain why there were more than 100,000 of Honda\’s hybrids sold between 1999 and 2006. Most of these models went to owners in the United States, next come Japan, Europe and Canada.

The Accord Honda hybrids saw the market daylight in 2004. This way people could enjoy the Honda hybrid models more extensively and with a greater variety. It has presented the company in North America with quite a great deal of success and worldwide it has become a favorite among hybrid models. This particular model has 255 horse power, it is a V-6 car and it reduces the fuel consume a great deal.

If we were to ask an individual to define a car or automobile today, they would almost certainly describe a vehicle with a gasoline powered engine.  Maybe one or two would talk about diesel power, but virtually everyone would describe a petroleum-powered vehicle. President-elect Barak Obama’s new presidential limousine will be a Cadillac hybrid powered car,  sources have announced recently.  General Motors is working feverishly to get the new hybrid limousine ready for the inauguration in January 2009.  GM began offering American hybrid cars with Sierra and Silverado, for fleet and commercial customers in May 2004.
